Dr. Gilliam is an experimental psychologist in the School of Psychological Sciences. He first came to the University of Northern Colorado in January 1990 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in August 1995. He received Tenure in May 1996 and was promoted to Full Professor in August of 2000. He is a member of the Graduate Faculty.


Dr. Gilliam teaches Introduction to Physiological Psychology (PSY380), Psychological Statistics and Research (PSY200), and Behavioral Genetics (PSY482). His research interests focus on prenatal drug effects with a specialization in maternal genetic factors that influence fetal alcohol effects. He is the Executive-Secretary for the Colorado-Wyoming Academy of Sciences.
