Dr. Elizabeth Franklin, Director of the School of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies, is a graduate of Purdue University (B.A.) and Indiana University (M.A., Ph.D.). She is a tenured professor in Hispanic Studies and teaches and conducts research in the area of Bilingual Education and English as a Second Language. Dr. Franklin edited the book, Learning How to Read and Write in More Than One Language: Lessons for Teachers, published by TESOL. She currently directs a grant focused on preparing preservice teachers to work more effectively with Mexican-origin students in K-12 schools.

Fall 2008
