Bob Brunswig, Director—

Bob Brunswig, Director of the School of Social Sciences, is a graduate of Kansas State University (B.A.), the University of Pennsylvania (M.A.), and the University of Colorado, Boulder (Ph.D.). He is a tenured Professor of Anthropology at UNC and has been a research archaeologist for three decades, participating in or directing field projects ranging from the Arabian Peninsula, Southern Asia and Europe to the Western United States. He has been director of UNC’s South Platte Archaeological Project since 1992, a project consisting of a long-term study of the archaeological history of the northeastern Colorado mountains, foothills, and plains. The author of more than 50 publications, Bob has been recognized as College Scholar for the College of Arts & and Sciences (2004-2005) and University Distinguished Scholar (2005-2006).
